N.T.S. Arumugam Pillai bought most of the land. The residents of the land, mostly of the poor Malays are threatened and may be expelled by new owners when the lands are required for certain purposes such as housing development and so on.
Most of the population live on their livelihood and earn a living on the land as rubber tappers, laborers, farmers, growers and others with low and non-permanent income, an average of less than RM200.00 per month.
